Technology for Seniors
Are you a senior or do you know a senior who would like to attend our programs virtually? Are you/they unable to attend due to a need for either a laptop or an internet connection? Through an AgeOptions Technology for Seniors Grant we have been able to obtain a few devices to circulate to enable seniors attend our programs virtually. These devices are available to adult PTPLD Patrons to use to attend virtual programs. Please call the library at (708) 430-3688 or visit the library's Circulation Desk to learn more.
Chromebooks
Chromebooks are laptops that run on Google Chrome's operating system and typically have more basic capabilities than other laptops. Chromebooks can be used to browse the internet and access apps such as Google Docs and Zoom. You can connect to the internet on a Chromebook using your own home wireless service or using one of the library's wireless Hotspots.
T-Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots
A "Hotspot" is a device that allows you to access the internet via a wireless network. It does not need to be connected to an internet cable or to your computer or other electronic device. Each Hotspot comes with its own Wi-Fi network and password and is easy for anyone to use.
